| It
is a great honor to accept the presidency of the Madora Garden Club. It is with
humility and gratitude that I accept this responsibility. As we approach our
coming year, we will be presented with a "Bouquet For All Seasons". As
garden club members, we learn to appreciate all types of gardening. We learn to
recognize the importance of good soil, the benefits of water, and the perils of
drought. Gardening is such a challenge. Do we plant seeds, bulbs, or starter sets?
Should it be trees, shrubs, or flowers? Would we rather have a Butterfly Garden
or a Bird Habitat? As in life there are choices to be made, goals to be set, and
goals to be met. We learn much from our fellow gardeners. Let us share what
we have learned with all of our fellow members old an new.
We
are so fortunate to be members of such an outstanding Garden Club. We have been
fortunate to be the recipient of many prestigious awards. I look forward to
working with such exceptional leaders and talented and dedicated members who have
accomplished so much in the past. Together we can sow great things in the world
of gardening. As Alexander Smith once said, "My garden with pulses of
fragrance that come and go on the airy undulations, affects me like sweet music.
Car stops at the gates, and gazes at me wistfully through the bars. Among my flowers
and trees, Nature takes me into her own hands, and I breath freely, as first man."
